MINISTRIES
Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
John 15: 5, 8
At SMBC, below are some of the ways by which we help each other grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Sunday Services
All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. Acts 2: 42
Sunday is the Lord's Day. We meet on Sundays to worship God as a church and to celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. We also share stories to celebrate or needs to pray about. We worship God by giving him thanks, reading scriptures, singing songs, and giving an offering for the Lord's work through SMBC. Children go to Kids Church where they will learn about God, and adults also will have a learning time from the Bible in the main hall.
Most people would consider our Sunday services to be informal in style.

Kid's Church
Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” Matthew 19:14
Our children are valued and considered to be an important and contributing part of our community. We are passionate about encouraging them and help them grow as disciples of Jesus.
We seek to support families as together we
-
introduce and teach children what God has said in His Word
-
help children to develop a real and living relationship with Jesus as Lord and Saviour
-
pray for and with our children
-
involve the children in friendship and fellowship groups, encouraging peers and other church family members
-
help children develop their ministry gifts
-
provide opportunities to serve in the church and community
-
help them to express and share the love of Christ with others

Prayer Gatherings
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Eph 6: 18
We have prayer gatherings because we believe that praying with others has power. In a typical prayer gathering, we encourage ourselves from God's word and approach him with praise and requests. We pray for ourselves, people within our church, needs of our neighbourhoods, people we know, our country Australia and the world. We believe that through prayer, we can engage with God in changing the world for good. Through prayer, we express our dependence on God.
Usually, we have two online prayer gatherings:
Sunday, 5.00 PM via Zoom
Tuesday, 7.30 PM via Zoom
Our prayer meetings are online because of the virus alert.
Connect Groups
So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. 1 Thessalonians 5: 11
Connect Groups are our small groups. We want everyone to be a part of a connect group because within small groups deeper friendships, a sense of belonging, discipleship and accountability are fostered. In a typical connect group, people talk about their life, things that they have been learning, share about their needs for prayer and pray as a group and study the bible.
At the moment, all our connect groups meet online via Zoom.
Here are the different connect groups to join:
Monday, 7.30 pm, lead by Angela & Jordan Waters
Thursday, 7.30 pm, lead by Linda Burton
Friday, 7:00 pm, lead by Andrea Cameron
