Highway Church is committed to serve the community by practically addressing the felt needs in our area with the love of Jesus. Jesus said, I have come to give life, life in full. Ultimately, our households, streets and suburbs can be transformed by the love of Jesus Christ. Below are our current initiatives.

Highway Chat 'n' Play is a playgroup for parents, grandparents or carers and their little ones 0 to 5 years old. It is a relaxed place for parents to be able to have a cuppa and a chat, while their children get to play and create with other children their age.

This playgroup runs throughout the year, stopping only for the mid-year winter school holidays and the summer break.

WHEN: Tuesdays from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

Morning tea is provided for parents and kids.

Counselling & Psychologist

Highway Church has partnered with Restoring Hope Counselling to support our community to assist people dealing with a range of issues including grief, anxiety, depression, relational and family problems. At Restoring Hope Counselling, the name is its purpose - to help people of all ages live happier, healthier and more productive lives.

Our counsellor, Glenn Cameron aims to assist individuals and couples to thrive through improved psychological and relational health. He believes that the best way to achieve this is through a cooperative and respectful working relationship, where each works hard to obtain the best results.

Apart from individual and couples therapy, we also run group therapies on scheduled dates.

Please visit the web page or call Glenn on 02 9834 1777.

Lavender Cottage

Situated on the grounds of Highway Church, Lavender Cottage provides a way to meet the local community by being a welcoming, interesting place to shop for pre-loved items, have a cuppa, and find information about local support services & events. Lavender Cottage is open on Thursdays and Saturdays from 9AM - 2PM.

It bears the name Lavender not just because of the lavender flowers at the front of the cottage but also with the purpose to be a place of peace for all the customers.

Scripture Teaching (SRE)

We consider it a privilege to have the opportunity to teach children about our faith. We take the responsibility seriously and seek to love the children in SRE classes of our local schools as well as help them learn about God, the story of The Bible, and Jesus, what he came to do for us.

Our church has SRE teachers in Oxley Park Public School and Bennett Road Public School. We use the Godspace curriculum.

As a church, we adhere to the policies and procedures for SRE as given by the Department of Education and NSW & ACT Association of Baptist Churches.
